Animalia
Synopsis
Animalia is a fable about the relationship between humans and animals. Set in a future where nature has reclaimed the world, cities are overgrown, and humans have turned into animals – except for a few, sealed inside an airtight city. When Alm is sent to rescue newborns from the animal-like humans, she discovers the humanity in animals – and the animal within herself.

Director Marius Rolfsvåg began making short films at an early age and worked as an
assistant director and editor on numerous commercials, short films, and a feature film in his
early twenties. He graduated from the Norwegian Film School in Lillehammer in 2016 with
the short film Finite. Film school sparked his fascination with human fundamentals,
world-building, post-apocalypse, and sci-fi. Since then, he has mainly worked in commercials
across various genres and as an episode director on the TV series Ambassadøren. Animalia
is his first major independent artistic project after film school.
