Holben is an independent director and producer in Los Angeles. A former cinematographer, he is an associate member of the ASC and contributing technical editor for American Cinematographer Magazine. He is also the author of multiple books on filmmaking including The Cine Lens Manual and The Director's Guide to Everything. He's widely recognized as the go-to helmsman for extraordinarily complicated projects including two for the ASC the Standard Evaluation Material (StEM) 2.0 and 3.0-VP short films "The Mission" and "Warped." Two of his previous shorts are included in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences permanent collection and one was recently featured at the Academy's Branch Screenings, an adaptation of the poem by Stephen King: "Paranoid." His feature and television credits include Before the Dawn, Black Tar Road, as well as second and additional units for HBO's Femme Fatales and Showtime's Dexter. Read less
